TekMoney V2 is here: new pricing, secure sharing and unlimited free uploads

TekMoney V2 has arrived. Here is everything that has changed, from our new subscription pricing to secure sharing and unlimited uploads for free accounts.

Hi everyone,

We have some exciting news to share. Over the past few weeks we have been quietly rolling out a set of updates, and today we can finally say it out loud: TekMoney V2 is live.

As you know, we are a small team working to make your finances clearer and easier to understand. We have never wanted to build an app that keeps you scrolling or makes managing money feel complicated. Our aim has always been simple. You upload your bank statement PDF, and about two minutes later you see your finances clearly in one place. That has not changed. But plenty of other things have, so let us walk you through them.

New subscription pricing

The subscription now costs £2.99 per month or £24 per year. We made this change so the platform can become self-sustainable. Our running costs grow as more people join, and this pricing means we can keep improving the system without cutting corners. We kept it as low as we realistically could, because we want this to stay accessible to everyone who needs a clearer picture of their money.

Share your finances securely

This is the feature we are most proud of. You can now share a read-only view of your finances with a financial adviser, partner, family member or friend who has an account. You will find the new Share panel in the top navigation bar.

When you create a share, you are in full control of what the other person sees. You can share a specific month or a full year, and you can choose how much detail to reveal. Some people are happy to show full details, while others prefer to share only totals or even just percentages, which works nicely if you want a second opinion on your spending habits without revealing exact figures.

You also control how long access lasts. A share can expire after 12 hours, on a date you choose, or never, and you can revoke it at any time. A small Viewed badge appears when the other person opens it, so you always know. The person receiving the share can end their own access too.

One thing we want to be completely clear about: nothing is public. We do not create public sharing links. Every share goes directly to the account connected to the email address you enter, and nowhere else.

Free accounts are now more generous

Free accounts remain free, and they have actually become better. You can now upload an unlimited number of bank statements, up from the previous limit of five. You can add statements from up to two bank accounts and view every uploaded month in both the monthly and yearly dashboards without paying a penny. There is no cap on how many statements or months you upload for those two accounts. Your full history is yours to explore.

Smarter categorisation

We have also improved how transactions are categorised. When you upload a new statement, the system now identifies categories more accurately, which means less time correcting things and more time actually understanding where your money goes. It is a quieter update than the others, but you will notice the difference the next time you upload.

Thank you

That is everything for now. Thank you for using the app and for supporting a small team trying to do things properly. If you have any questions about these changes, email us at hello@techinay.co.uk and we will get back to you.

Best,
The Team
